U23 Southeast Asia 2025 Rankings: Vietnam tops Group B

U23 Vietnam temporarily tops Group B after the end of the second round of the 2025 Southeast Asia U23 group stage.

The Vietnam U23 team had a favorable start when they won 3-0 against Laos U23 in the opening match. This result helped coach Kim Sang Sik and his team take the lead in Group B with 3 points (goal difference 3).

U23 Cambodia with 1 point (0 goal difference) ranked 2nd in the group. Meanwhile, U23 Laos was definitely eliminated when they only got 1 point after two group stage matches.

U23 Vietnam will fight U23 Cambodia in the final match of Group B to win the top spot.

In Group A, U23 Indonesia is leading with 6 absolute points after two matches. The home team just had an important 1-0 victory over U23 Philippines in the last match.

U23 Philippines maintained second place in the group despite having the same number of points as U23 Malaysia but a better head-to-head record. At the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, when two teams have the same number of points, the head-to-head record will be considered first (U23 Philippines beat U23 Malaysia 2-0 in the first round).

U23 Brunei is definitely eliminated after not winning any points after two matches.

The situation in Group A is still very dramatic when all three teams Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia still have a chance to continue. Everything will be decided in the final round.

Meanwhile, in Group C, U23 Thailand rose to the top of the table with 3 points, after a resounding 4-0 victory over U23 Timor Leste. U23 Myanmar finished second in the group and U23 Timor Leste officially said goodbye to the tournament with only 1 point.

In the final round, U23 Thailand will face U23 Myanmar to find out who will be the top team in the group.
