Previously, Mang Thit District Police received a report from an officer of Mang Thit District Health Center about a burglary and theft of a generator worth nearly 45 million VND. Using professional measures, the police identified Nguyen Hoang Vu and Mai Van Tan Dat as suspects and invited them to the agency for questioning.

Through investigation, Vu and Dat confessed that at around 11am on May 5, Vu drove his motorbike to Dat's house to play, then discussed and agreed to go to the old Mang Thit District Health Center (located in Hamlet 4, Cai Nhum Town, Mang Thit District) to steal property. Upon arrival, both of them opened the gate of the health center, used the tools they brought with them to remove the screws and stole a 124.5 kg generator from the stairwell area.
