On September 13, Huong Hoa Regional General Hospital ( Quang Tri ) said it had just performed timely surgery to save the life of a pregnant woman with a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in critical condition.

The patient is Ms. Ho Thi Th., 26 years old, residing in Huong Phung commune, was hospitalized with pale skin and mucous membranes, distended abdomen, and severe pain in the lower abdomen.

Through examination and consultation, the doctors determined that the pregnant woman had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy - a particularly dangerous obstetric complication.

Immediately, the "red alert" team was activated. During the surgery, the doctor discovered that the fetus implanted at the isthmus of the fallopian tube had ruptured, causing nearly 1.8 liters of blood to flow into the abdominal cavity, directly threatening the patient's life. Thanks to the smooth coordination, the surgery was successful, and the mother is now stable and continues to be monitored and cared for.

Doctor Nguyen Viet Duc - Hospital Director - recommends that women of reproductive age who show signs of delayed menstruation or menstrual disorders should have early examination to detect abnormalities, especially ectopic pregnancy, to avoid the risk of death.
