On November 15, news from Quang Ninh Provincial Police, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, issued an arrest warrant for temporary detention, and a search warrant for the residence and workplace of Mr. Vu Dinh Kien - Director of Thien Nam Joint Stock Company for the crime of "Violating regulations on resource exploitation".
The Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province served the Prosecution Decisions on Vu Dinh Kien.
Specifically, the Department of Investigation Police on corruption, economic , smuggling, and environmental crimes, Quang Ninh Provincial Police, has clarified the violation of regulations on resource exploitation by Thien Nam Joint Stock Company in taking advantage of the implementation of the Project to recover and process sand and stone gathered at the top locations of mine waste dumps in Mong Duong ward (Cam Pha) to exploit soil and mine waste rock without a license from the competent State management agency, causing especially large losses and waste of mineral resources and tax money of the State budget.
According to the investigation results, from July 2023 to January 31, 2024, Vu Dinh Kien was the person who directly directed and managed workers and arranged machinery, equipment, and vehicles to illegally exploit over 582,000 m3 of soil and mine waste rock in Mong Duong ward, with the value of illegally exploited minerals being 29.8 billion VND.
According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Police, this is the result of thoroughly implementing Resolution No. 74/2022/QH15 dated November 15, 2022 of the 15th National Assembly on promoting the implementation of policies, laws, practicing thrift, fighting waste and the direction of General Secretary To Lam on preventing and fighting waste associated with preventing and fighting corruption and negativity and Resolution No. 16-NQ/TU dated May 9, 2019 of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in the management of coal and mineral resources in the province.
The Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province is focusing on expanding the investigation of the case, clarifying the violations of related subjects to strictly handle and thoroughly recover assets for the State.
