Quang Ninh: 6 kangaroos and 22 other wild animals were discovered and captured by Hai Ha District Police on the way from Ha Nam to China.
The number of wild animals was discovered by the District Police in coordination with the Hai Ha District Forest Protection Department on a truck driven by Ngo Xuan Tung, 37 years old, from Dong Trieu town, Quang Ninh province in the early morning of December 25 at the turnoff to the Ha Long - Mong Cai highway. Tung could not present documents proving the origin of these animals.

After appraisal, the authorities determined that there were 14 weasels, 6 kangaroos, 5 capybaras and 3 rabbits. These species are not distributed in Vietnam and are not listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
On December 27, Hai Ha District Police handed over the wild animals to Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Care and Conservation Park.
Working with the police, Tung confessed to transporting the animals from Ha Nam province to China for sale. The police are completing the administrative case against Tung and the bus assistant.
