Surprised with the salary of the Game industry in Vietnam

The Game Industry Has "Huge" Salaries

In many countries around the world , Game is the main smokeless industry in the 4.0 era. According to data from the Vietnam Game Producers and Publishers Alliance, the Game industry in our country reached more than 600 million USD, with an average growth rate of 9%/year - higher than the regional average (8.2%).

At the same time, in the Southeast Asian market, the gaming industry's revenue has grown strongly from 2.4 billion USD in 2019 to more than 5.3 billion USD in 2023. In particular, Vietnam is assessed to have a faster annual growth rate than other countries in the region.

Lao Dong newspaper quoted Dr. Cao Minh Thang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, saying that the starting salary for game design and development positions ranges from 10 to 20 million VND/month, depending on individual capacity.

For employees with 2-3 years of working experience, this salary will have a clear differentiation, some even receive a salary of up to 50 million VND/month.

From there, we can see that the Game industry is on the rise in the Vietnamese market with salaries much higher than the general level even though this is a new field of study. This promises to bring students many job opportunities in the future.

What criteria must be met to study Game?

Currently, human resources in the game industry in the Vietnamese market mainly come from a number of majors such as Information Technology, Graphic Design, Computer Science . Therefore, when receiving the amount of knowledge in the Game industry, many candidates are confused.

One of the important criteria that students studying Game major need to meet is good logical thinking. The Game industry always requires personnel to create many good game products, attract players, bring benefits to the community and have the ability to generate revenue.
