On the afternoon of October 6, the teams participating in the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship had a technical meeting before the opening day. The information that most people were interested in was whether or not the opposing setter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen would compete.
Previously, the coaching board of Ninh Binh Women's Club planned to assign Bich Tuyen to other work, not registering this player in the list of 14 athletes competing. However, the list was only finalized in the technical meeting on the afternoon of October 6.
The representative of Ninh Binh Women's Club attending the meeting was Head Coach Thai Thanh Tung. According to information obtained by VietNamNet, Coach Thanh Tung decided to register Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen for the position of... caretaker, instead of assistant coach as many previous rumors.
Thus, Bich Tuyen will not compete until the end of the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, and whether this athlete will return next season or not is still a question mark. It is known that although working as a caregiver, Bich Tuyen still participates in normal training with her teammates.
With Bich Tuyen absent from the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, the possibility of her being called up to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to participate in the SEA Games is open.
Phase 2 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship with 8 men's and 8 women's teams competing from October 7 to October 16 in Ninh Binh, thereby determining the champion team representing Vietnam to participate in the AVC Champions League 2026. The last ranked team will be relegated to play in the 2026 A-League.
