Vietnam National Team: A series of naturalized players are about to appear

(Dan Tri) - Recently, coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have sent proposals to naturalize a series of players for the Vietnam national team.

Coach Kim Sang Sik is trying to help the Vietnamese team have a new look. In addition to looking for local faces for Vietnamese football, the Korean strategist also actively proposed to naturalize qualified "foreign" players. They are all players who have played in the V-League for 5 years or more and are knowledgeable about Vietnamese football.

In goal, Patrik Le Giang (HCMC Police) is being proposed for naturalization. This goalkeeper was born in 1992 in Slovakia, his father is Vietnamese, his mother is Slovak. He grew up in the famous youth training center of Zilina.

It was not until 2023 that Patrik Le Giang returned to Vietnam to play for the Hanoi Police Club and has been playing in Vietnam until now. Because Patrik Le Giang's father is Vietnamese, his naturalization process may not encounter many problems. The 33-year-old goalkeeper's strengths are his reflexes and good footwork.

In defense, two players Santos Gustavo ( Da Nang ) and Janclesio (Ninh Binh) are both being considered for naturalization. Both players are tall (Santos Gustavo is 1.95m tall, Janclesio is 1.96m tall) so they can make up for the Vietnamese team's weakness in aerial combat.

In the midfield, creative midfielder Geovane Magno (Ninh Binh) is a good choice for coach Kim Sang Sik. The Brazilian midfielder is famous for his ability to pass the ball and control the game. He has played for many top clubs in the V-League such as The Cong Viettel , Hanoi FC, Cong An Hanoi, Ha Tinh and Ninh Binh.

Similarly, Hendrio of Hanoi FC also plays in this position and is being proposed by coach Kim Sang Sik to be naturalized. With two of the top ball-playing players in V-League at the moment, the Vietnam team can aim for a more creative playing style.

Up front, Xuan Son is a great choice. The striker born in 1997 performed very well at the AFF Cup 2024, helping the team win the championship. Xuan Son is in the process of recovering and can return to the Vietnam national team early next year.
