The Politburo appointed the President to join the Central Public Security Party Committee.

On the morning of June 15, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, attended and directed the Central Public Security Party Committee Conference for the first 6 months of 2023.

Before the conference, Minister of Public Security To Lam announced the Politburo 's decision.

Accordingly, on March 23, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, on behalf of the Politburo, signed Decision No. 84 on appointing Mr. Vo Van Thuong - Politburo member and President, to join the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

President Vo Van Thuong was born in 1970 in An Phuoc commune, Mang Thit district, Vinh Long province. He has a Master's degree in Philosophy and a senior degree in political theory.

Mr. Vo Van Thuong is a member of the Politburo of the 12th and 13th terms; Secretary of the Party Central Committee of the 12th and 13th terms; Member of the Party Central Committee of the 10th (alternate), 11th, 12th, 13th terms; National Assembly Delegate of the 12th, 14th, and 15th terms.

In March 2023, at the 4th extraordinary session, the 15th National Assembly elected Mr. Vo Van Thuong to hold the position of President.
