Serious landslide, more than 800 households in a mountainous commune of Nghe An were isolated.

Prolonged heavy rain caused landslides, cutting off roads to four villages in the mountainous commune of Nga My, Nghe An province, isolating more than 800 households.

The road to the villages in Nga My commune suffered serious landslides.

On the afternoon of October 15, Mr. Lo Kham Kha, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nga My Commune ( Nghe An ) said that due to heavy rains that lasted during the night of October 14 and early morning of October 15, the roads leading to the villages of Phay, Cha Hia, and Dinh Tai were seriously eroded, isolating and cutting off the above villages from the outside. These are remote and extremely difficult villages of more than 800 Thai ethnic households.

Because the landslide point is located on a steep, winding road along Chon stream, a large amount of rock and soil from the landslide point and the hillside also flowed down onto the road surface.

Rocks and soil from the mountain flowed down the road, isolating many villages in Nga My commune.

According to Mr. Lo Kham Kha, the commune authorities are currently mobilizing all human resources and means to try to clear the roads to the villages that are affected by landslides. If the weather is favorable, people will be able to travel this evening.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nga My commune said that, along with Na Ngan village (the most remote and difficult village in the commune) which has been isolated for more than half a month since the flash flood occurred on September 29, up to now, the entire Nga My commune has 4 villages that are isolated and cut off due to floods.
