Ministry of Health: Detecting a series of poor quality vegetable oils and counterfeit goods

On the evening of November 14, the Food Safety Department issued a warning about fake, poor quality goods.

This announcement is made pursuant to the Food Safety Law No. 55/2010/QH12; Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP dated February 2, 2018 of the Government; and Document No. 4925/CV-CSKT dated September 24 of the Investigation Police Agency, Hung Yen Provincial Police on announcement and propaganda related to poor quality vegetable oil products and counterfeit goods.

Previously, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Hung Yen province said that through the investigation and verification process at the business location of GF Vietnam Food Company Limited (address: Yen Phu village, Nguyen Van Linh commune, Hung Yen province), the authorities discovered that this unit produced and traded a number of vegetable oil products.

Specifically includes: CHICA vegetable oil, CHICA soybean oil, TAMIN GOLD vegetable oil, GOLDMAX vegetable oil, GOOD vegetable oil, MEGAFOOD vegetable oil.

The results of the inspection and appraisal showed that the above products were of poor quality and counterfeit. Notably, the above products had been distributed to many provinces and cities across the country.

To protect consumers' rights, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Hung Yen province recommends that agencies, units and people increase vigilance and not buy or use vegetable oil products with the above brands.

At the same time, it is recommended to coordinate with competent authorities to monitor, detect and promptly handle cases of circulation of goods that do not ensure quality and counterfeit goods.
