Speeding up to bring Tan Son Nhat T3 station to the finish line on the occasion of April 30th holiday

Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport with an investment cost of 10,990 billion VND is entering the acceleration phase to be inaugurated on the occasion of April 30.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport Terminal T3 will start construction at the end of 2022 with a total investment of VND10,990 billion.

After more than 2 years of implementation, the national key traffic project has revealed its modern appearance, with construction volume reaching over 95%.

Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport has a scale of 1 basement, 4 floors above ground, total floor area is 112,500m2.

The T3 terminal construction site is completing the final items to prepare for the inauguration ceremony on April 30.

The main items including the passenger terminal, the multi-storey car park combined with non-aviation services, the overpass system in front of the terminal and the aircraft parking lot have all been basically completed. In the photo, the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa with a cost of more than 4,800 billion VND has also been seamlessly connected.

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that the Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 project is currently completing the final stages.

In which, 100% completed items such as the passenger terminal with rough architecture, steel roof structure, aluminum roof, glass walls... The remaining parts such as the terminal's stone floor, ceiling, restrooms, electrical equipment system, air conditioning, ventilation, elevators and escalators, telescopic bridges, baggage conveyors, X-ray machines, fire protection... are being actively constructed.

According to the plan from now until the end of the month, contractors will strive to complete the remaining construction of the architecture, then will check the refrigeration, air conditioning, air and other aviation systems, from which, in early April, the fire protection system will be accepted...

The working atmosphere at the construction site of the national key project is very urgent. Contractors mobilize machinery, equipment, workers, engineers... each with a task, joining in the project's rotation. Below the wheelchairs and rollers are working on the yard area; above, cranes, lifts and hundreds of workers are working on the roof, glass doors...

Inside the station, construction units are continuing to strive to complete unfinished items before March 31.

The concourse in front of the T3 passenger terminal is almost finished with the roof. The stone floor and ceiling are almost 90% complete, expected to be fully completed by March.

Inside the T3 terminal lobby, the items are nearly completed and are being arranged according to the design. The electromechanical construction of the entire project is 97% complete, the main low voltage switchboards, distribution switchboards, lighting systems, cable tapes, aircraft parking and vehicle parking lighting systems have also been completed.

The baggage conveyor system, the contractors have completed the construction of the steel floor. According to the design, the terminal has 89 airline check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters (bagdrop) and 42 check-in kiosks, applying new technology combined with the national population database for check-in procedures; 25 security control gates; 1 separate area for business class passengers.

In the operation plan of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Terminal T3 will be inaugurated on the occasion of April 30th as directed by the Prime Minister. After the peak period of April 30th - May 1st, Terminal T3 will officially operate, serving all domestic flights of two airlines Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.

Terminal T3 is put into operation with 20 million passengers/year, helping to increase the total capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers/year. Of which, Terminal T3 will handle an expected 80% of domestic passengers, helping to relieve the burden of Terminal T1, which has been overloaded for many years.
