Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 1 organized a training course to improve infection control knowledge for medical staff.

Implementing plan No. 829/KH-BVĐK dated September 4, 2025 of Lao Cai General Hospital No. 1 on coordination and implementation of cooperation activities, training, and transfer of medical techniques with central-level hospitals and institutes in 2025. From September 15-19, 2025, General Hospital No. 1 organized a training course on "Update knowledge of infection control" for medical staff in the province. Attending the training course were 100 students who are doctors, nurses, and medical staff working at medical facilities throughout the province.

Training class scene

During the 5 days, students were updated with knowledge and skills on infection control by experts from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital and Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 1, such as: infection control system in medical examination and treatment facilities, standard prevention measures and prevention by transmission route, hand hygiene procedures, medical waste management methods, mastering the principles of cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing medical instruments, etc.

Students participating

Infection control plays an extremely important role in the medical field, helping to prevent the spread of bacteria, viruses, fungi and other pathogens, contributing to reducing the risk of infection with pathogenic microorganisms, protecting the health of patients, medical staff and the community. Organizing training courses not only improves the professional capacity of the medical staff of Lao Cai province but also contributes significantly to the work of preventing hospital infections, ensuring the quality of medical examination and treatment and health care for the people.

At the end of the course, students will be granted a certificate of continuous medical knowledge update with 40 lessons (equivalent to 40 credit hours), meeting the continuous training standards as prescribed by the Ministry of Health .
