Video : A80 soldiers say goodbye to Hanoi people, board train to the South
At noon on September 3, a car carrying officers and soldiers arrived at Hanoi station to board the train to return to their units after successfully completing their mission on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (mission A80).
According to the plan, from September 3-5, the Department of Motorcycles and Transport will organize the transport of 1,257 officers and soldiers along with equipment and luggage of units of Military Region 5, Military Region 7, Military Region 9, the Navy and Army Corps 34 by rail from Hanoi to stations in the Central and Southern regions.
On the first train departing this afternoon were officers and soldiers from Military Region 5 and Army Corps 34 in the Electronic Warfare, Militia and Self-Defense Forces, Cyber Warfare, etc. The train departed from Hanoi station at 1:15 p.m. on September 3, and is expected to arrive at Da Nang station (Military Region 5) at 7:16 a.m. on September 4 and arrive at Dieu Tri station (Army Corps 34) at 2:28 p.m. the same day.
Different from the solemnity of the parade, the soldiers of the Electronic Warfare Unit of the 34th Corps returned to their simple, friendly appearance with bright smiles, warm handshakes and sincere goodbyes.

The farewell ceremony took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, imbued with the love between the army and the people, reviving the tradition of “the army and the people are like fish and water”. This also marked the end of a meaningful journey of training and dedication of the people's armed forces in the country's important event.
Besides the joy and excitement of returning to the unit after completing the mission, there are also the lingering looks and tears of relatives and lovers when saying goodbye to the soldiers.
Many soldiers took the opportunity to take souvenir photos and chat with people before the train departed.
Mr. Cao Kim Thong, a veteran of Van Mieu ward, shared: “I was at Hanoi station from 11am to meet and see off the soldiers after hard days of completing the A80 mission, on their way back to their units. Looking at the young soldiers today, I am extremely moved and proud, as if seeing the image of our generation in the past. I just hope that they will always train well, maintain their will, and return to their units to excellently complete all assigned tasks.”
The veteran visited and encouraged young soldiers of the Cyber Warfare force before they returned to their units.
The soldiers came to Hanoi to practice for mission A80 in early June. After more than 100 days of weathering the sun and rain on the training ground and completing the task of marching in Ba Dinh Square to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, they said goodbye to Hanoi with the lingering affection of millions of people. The return train not only ended the days of urgent training and service, but also marked the pride, sense of responsibility and high discipline of the officers, soldiers and students.
