Teachers in Na Ri commune receive rice to support boarding students. |
During this period, the whole province has more than 1,000 tons of national reserve rice that has been and is being distributed by localities to schools in the area. Of which, more than 400 tons of rice are additionally distributed for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year and more than 635 tons of rice are distributed for 2 months (September, October) of the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year. This is an important source of support to ensure the living conditions and learning conditions for students in ethnic minority, mountainous and extremely difficult areas according to Decree 66/2025/ND-CP dated March 12, 2025 of the Government .
To implement this policy, localities in the province have urgently organized the reception and distribution. On October 1, Na Ri district distributed more than 39.2 tons of rice to students at schools in the area. Of which, Na Ri Ethnic Boarding Secondary School received more than 28.9 tons; Yen Lac Secondary School more than 1 ton; Kim Lu Primary & Secondary School nearly 2 tons; Yen Lac Primary School more than 5.4 tons; Luong Thanh Primary & Secondary School 690kg; Lam Son Primary & Secondary School more than 1.1 tons. These are all ethnic minority students living in areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions.
Talking to us about the rice reception, Ms. Nong Thi Tuyet, Principal of Na Ri Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: As soon as we received more than 28.9 tons of rice from the national reserve, the school promptly coordinated with the authorities to organize the allocation and distribution to the students. This is a very practical support, helping the students to have stable daily meals, have more motivation to attend class fully and more diligently. Especially for ethnic minority students in remote areas, this policy not only provides material support but is also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping them to feel secure in studying, practicing and striving to achieve good results in the new school year.
The timely rice support has encouraged children to go to school with peace of mind, reducing the burden of living expenses for their families. Many parents expressed their excitement, saying that this policy helps their children maintain their full education, without worrying about dropping out of school.
The distribution of rice to schools is being urgently implemented by localities. |
Currently, the Department of Education and Training is coordinating with the State Reserve Department of Region IV to organize rice delivery at 60 rice receiving points to support boarding students in the province. The Provincial People's Committee requires the rice delivery to be completed before October 5, 2025, and at the same time assigns the Department of Education and Training to coordinate the implementation according to the plan, ensuring that the rice reaches the right recipients, in sufficient quantity and quality. Transportation costs from commune and ward centers to schools are implemented according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 13, Decree 66/2025/ND-CP.
Talking to us about the work of receiving and distributing rice to support students, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoang, Chairman of Hiep Luc Commune People's Committee, emphasized: The Commune People's Committee has closely coordinated with schools in the area to receive, transport and distribute more than 11 tons of rice quickly and to the right subjects. By September 29, the Commune People's Committee had distributed rice to 4 schools in the commune. Schools continue to distribute rice to students according to regulations.
The beneficiaries of the rice support are ethnic minority students living in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, studying at primary and secondary schools in the commune. Thereby, it is a timely encouragement for ethnic minority students to study with peace of mind and actively practice. The local government will continue to accompany, monitor and support educational institutions during the implementation process, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoang added.
The policy of supporting national rice reserves over the years has proven effective in reducing school dropouts and motivating students in disadvantaged areas to strive. With more than 1,000 tons of rice provided this time, tens of thousands of boarding students in Thai Nguyen will have more nutritious meals, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education.
