TPO - On the afternoon of October 11, at Thong Nhat secondary stadium, three goalkeepers of the Vietnamese national team – Dang Van Lam (1m88), Quan Van Viet (1m81) and Nguyen Trung Kien (1m91) – entered a foot skills training session with coach Lee Won-jae, a legend who participated in the 2002 World Cup in the Korean shirt.

The atmosphere of the practice session was quite comfortable on the afternoon of October 11.
On October 14, Nepal will play Vietnam again at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City. The first leg victory helps Vietnam continue to stay close to the top of Group F, while Malaysia also won 3-0 against host Laos. The group stage situation has therefore become more attractive than ever. With 6 points after three matches, the red-shirted army is currently ranked second in the group, only three points behind Malaysia, and is full of hope to win a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup finals.
Coach Kim Sang-sik was not satisfied with many aspects of Vietnam's playing style in the 3-1 victory over Nepal in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup on the evening of October 9.
The atmosphere of the training session was serious but also full of excitement. Under the guidance of Mr. Lee, each pass and each foot control of the goalkeepers was carefully trained. With the philosophy that "modern goalkeepers are the first to initiate attacks", he required his students to handle the ball quickly and accurately even when pressed at short distances.
Van Lam, after a few unfortunate mistakes in the first leg at Go Dau Stadium, appeared to be particularly focused. He actively discussed with coach Lee Won-jae after each situation, adjusting his ball-kicking rhythm and one-touch passing ability. Trung Kien and Van Viet also showed clear progress, coordinating smoothly in foot reflexes and long kicks.
What did coach Kim Sang-sik say about goalkeeper Dang Van Lam's performance?
