Lion Championship 27 - the event of the biggest MMA tournament in Vietnam took place on the evening of October 11 at Tay Ho Stadium with many unexpected developments.

In the main match, two candidates Ly Van Huynh and Do Thanh Chuong faced off to find out who would compete for the vacant 77kg championship belt. In the first round, Thanh Chuong really made it difficult for Van Huynh when he could not use his strong left foot. Ly Huynh's lightning-fast punches were met with strong resistance from his opponent's series of effective kicks and knees.

Suddenly, right at the beginning of the second round, Van Huynh's left kick appeared, causing Thanh Chuong some pain. Thanh Chuong's hasty decision to rush in made him get hit by his opponent's left punch. Ly Huynh did not miss the opportunity, ending the match with a series of ground-and-pound punches, forcing the referee to intervene.

With this knockout victory, Ly Van Huynh has won the opportunity to compete for the 77kg championship for the third time. His opponent will be 70kg champion Jovidon Khojaev - who has just announced that he is moving up in rank to pursue his second title at the Lion Championship.

In the main match of MMA Striking, WBC Muay Thai international champion - ONE Championship fighter Tran Quoc Tuan faced a difficult challenge when he faced Omnoi champion from Thailand - Vorapon Jayamram.

The ability to block, combine straight punches with a variety of kicks made it easy for Vorapon to control the match. The close-quarter situations also saw the Thai representative dominate, thereby winning on points after 3 rounds.

The two most notable knockouts of the night belonged to the tournament’s young talents in the 56kg category. In the MMA Pro format, Dinh Van Khuyen took just 16 seconds to knock out Bui Dinh Khai, becoming one of the fighters with the most knockout victories in the tournament. Van Khuyen’s backhand punch once again proved that he is a real threat to fighters in the same weight class.

In the opening match of the MMA Striking format, World Sanda Gold Medalist Tran Huy Hai showed his mettle when handling the aggressive attacks of his opponent Vo Tien Dat. From a careless charge by his opponent, Huy Hai used a right punch to knock his opponent straight down on the floor. Although he tried to stand up afterwards, Tien Dat was no longer conscious enough to respond to the referee's signal, causing him to receive his first knockout loss at the Lion Championship.

Lion Championship 27 also witnessed a series of exciting confrontations. The final match of the MMA Striking 65kg category was won by Nguyen Van Lam after a convincing performance, overwhelming young talent Luu Huy Duc after three rounds. Van Lam will advance straight to the MMA Pro format with a position in the Top 10 of the 65kg category.

The matches of Phan Trong Hieu (won Tran Vi Quang), Kpa Thuan (won Nguyen Tan An), Tran Le Phi Khanh (won Vo Vu Le), Pham Van Hao (won Tran Van Trong) also brought the audience emotions from suspense, surprise to explosion in each punch.
