Blind runner Vu Tien Manh and the 'Young people living beautifully' in 2025 inspire and ignite faith

Having participated in many running competitions over the years, including the ASEAN Para Games and the National Marathon and Long Distance Championship of Tien Phong Newspaper, Vu Tien Manh has stood on the podium many times. But on the evening of October 11 at the 2025 “Beautiful Youth” Gala, when the blind man born in 2000 received the “Beautiful Youth” award, a very special emotion welled up inside him.

“It’s like a dream,” Manh shared with Tien Phong newspaper reporters, “I am extremely happy with this prestigious award. This is everyone’s recognition of me, for what I have been doing, in encouraging the visually impaired to step out of the darkness and towards the light of life, and at the same time is the motivation for me to continue spreading positive energy, fueling the desire to rise up in the community.”

13 years ago, Manh started running and ignited the dream of a brighter tomorrow. Born with congenital nystagmus, he was surrounded by only blurred patches. However, in the face of adversity, Manh never lost his optimism and will to live. With the spirit of not giving up and the eagerness to explore his own limits, he gradually became the pride of the running community and people with disabilities in Vietnam.

Manh does not only run for himself. He also leads the way for blind people like him to find joy in life. From 3 members in the first day of establishment, Manh's Blind Runners Club has now grown to nearly 80 members. "Nothing is impossible in life. If you can do it, everyone can do it" - Manh's saying has ignited the will and desire to conquer of blind athletes, motivating them to try every day, to enjoy the beauty and meaning of life every day.

Energizing - reviving life, Manh's inspirational story is exactly the message that TCP Vietnam Company has always emphasized throughout the 6-year journey of accompanying the "Beautiful Youth" Award with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Hien Huy, General Director of TCP Vietnam, “accompanying young Vietnamese people is not only a part of the social responsibility strategy, but also a long-term mission that TCP Vietnam pursues”. TCP Vietnam recognizes that each young person carries within them a flame of determination that needs to be ignited, energized and spread, so that through the program “Youth Live Beautifully”, exemplary role models are honored.

This is a testament to the intelligence, qualities and excellent capacity of the young generation of Vietnam; thereby, promoting the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology and morality; continuing to concretize the movement "I love my Fatherland" through specific actions and deeds of young people in various fields towards society and the community, thereby building a generation of young people who live beautifully and usefully.

At the 2025 "Youth Living Beautifully" Gala, Manh was one of 20 outstanding young faces in many fields honored for their beautiful actions, humanitarian gestures and positive contributions to society, strongly spreading the spirit of living beautifully and usefully in the Vietnamese youth community.

Representing the spirit of humanity, courage and constant dedication of the young generation, besides Manh, there is also Vietnamese pencak silat athlete Nguyen Tan Sang, owner of three SEA Games Gold medals and one world Gold medal, who is also a model of the aspiration to conquer the peak, bringing Vietnamese sports to the international level.
