This event gathered more than 120 delegates from the government, consulates, business associations, domestic and foreign investors, aiming to create a forum for information exchange, policy updates, investment trends and sharing practical experiences in the Mekong Delta region as well as strengthening connections between domestic and foreign investors and local authorities.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep emphasized: Can Tho City is entering a new development phase after officially completing the arrangement of administrative units and merging with Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces from July 1, 2025. After the merger, the new Can Tho city has a natural area of about 6,360 km² and a population of more than 3.2 million people.

Accordingly, Can Tho is located in the center of the Mekong Delta, playing the role of a regional linkage nucleus; fully converging the conditions to become a modern industrial, service and logistics center, integrating comprehensive advantages such as synchronous traffic infrastructure with international airports, port systems and sea gateways; vertical and horizontal expressways quickly connecting to Ho Chi Minh City, the Eastern region and the entire Southwest region; quality urban - education - healthcare - service ecosystem, abundant human resources, reasonable costs, training capacity according to business orders.

On that foundation, Can Tho City is determined in its orientation of developing green - modern - sustainable industry, strong digital transformation, and promoting innovation.

"In that development picture, VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park plays a key role. This is the first VSIP in the Mekong Delta, planned according to the model of a green, smart industrial park with synchronous infrastructure and meeting international standards," Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep stated.

Currently, VSIP Can Tho not only provides clean land and ready factories, but also creates a diverse industrial ecosystem: electricity - electronics, precision mechanics, supporting industry; agricultural - aquatic product processing, food - beverage; green textiles; logistics - cold storage; biomedical equipment, biological packaging... but also connects the supply chain, human resources and large consumer market of the whole region.

On this occasion, the leaders of Can Tho City affirmed that Can Tho City and VSIP Can Tho are ready for modern infrastructure, an environment suitable for smart factories, abundant raw materials in the region, a complete cold storage - cold chain logistics system, food safety standards and traceability for export.

Can Tho is also a natural transit point of the region (air, highway, waterway, seaport connection), optimizing multimodal transportation costs. The city encourages energy-saving and emission-reducing projects, and is ready to support human resources, research, and inspection.

To reassure investors, Can Tho City leaders committed to implementing fast - transparent - time-bound procedures. Implementing a one-stop-shop mechanism, digitizing processes, and publicizing processing progress. Investors' problems will be directly resolved by the specialized working group; incentives will be appropriate - sufficient - competitive. Investors will be fully entitled to incentives on investment, tax, land, and environment according to regulations; at the same time, they will be supported in connecting infrastructure, recruiting and training workers according to demand, especially for large-scale, high-tech projects.

According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Thach, Deputy Head of the Legal Department of VCCI, the Mekong Delta needs to improve its investment environment to attract FDI capital. Accordingly, it is necessary to cut 30% of the time and unofficial costs in land, construction and environmental procedures, creating a transparent and favorable business environment for investors.

At the same time, providing 100% of the entire public service process, helping businesses save time and costs, improve management and operation efficiency; publicizing all land use planning, construction and budget, helping investors have full information to make investment decisions, reduce risks and increase trust...

VSIP Can Tho General Director Leaw Wee Ming affirmed that the choice of Can Tho to implement the 13th VSIP project comes from the city's strategic advantages and consensus on the vision of sustainable development.

According to Mr. Ming, Can Tho is located in the center of the Mekong Delta region, connected by a system of highways, river ports and international airports. The city has emerged not only as a logistics and supply chain center of the region but also as a gateway to connect to the global market. Can Tho has a population of more than 3.2 million and 37 universities and colleges, becoming a center for training high-quality human resources for future industries.

Another important advantage of Can Tho City is its transparent investment environment and clear support policies. "The city government has affirmed its strong commitment by simplifying procedures, implementing one-stop services and continuously upgrading infrastructure, thereby creating confidence for businesses to confidently expand investment," he said.

This enterprise has just been granted an investment registration certificate to build a 100 million USD factory in VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park by the Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones Management Board.
