(Dan Tri) - A heart surgeon living in Zhejiang province (China) suffered a heart attack while teaching his son his homework. The incident is considered the latest evidence of the pressure of being a parent in the country of a billion people.
Chinese media is reporting on Dr. Zhang, a father in his 40s who suddenly felt shortness of breath and chest pain while teaching his son to study for his high school semester exams.
Dr. Zhang was rushed to the emergency room by his family. At the hospital, Dr. Zhang was diagnosed with a heart attack and underwent emergency surgery. After the surgery, Dr. Zhang's condition stabilized.

However, the incident was immediately mentioned by Chinese news outlets as the latest evidence of the pressure on parents in the country of a billion people. According to the treating doctors, the incident that happened to Dr. Zhang was partly caused by psychological stress while teaching his child to study.
In the family, Dr. Zhang is responsible for checking his son's homework and studying. He is also the one who reviews his lessons with him every night.
The relationship between father and son is quite tense, as Dr. Zhang’s son often feels pressured by his parents’ expectations of his studies. Dr. Zhang is also the one who chooses his son’s extracurricular classes and personally takes him to and from these classes.
The incident involving Dr. Zhang is the latest in a series of cases in China in which parents have been hospitalized for health problems while tutoring their children. In 2018, a 33-year-old woman in Jiangsu province suffered a stroke in a fit of rage because her daughter was too slow in completing her homework.
In China, both students and parents are under pressure to perform well academically. From a young age, many parents set high expectations for their children's education.
Education expert Ling Zongwei advises parents to maintain a stable and balanced mentality to create a happy and comfortable atmosphere in the family, so that children can learn and develop better.
