Currently, the railway industry has also resumed the operation of two trains: NA1 ( Hanoi - Vinh) and NA2 (Vinh - Hanoi); MR1 (Gia Lam - Nanning) and MR2 (Nanning - Hanoi) - in coordination with Chinese railways after temporarily stopping on September 28, 2025 to ensure train safety.
As of the morning of September 29, storm No. 10 caused heavy rain and strong winds, breaking many large trees and causing obstacles to fall onto the railway. The unit has proactively resolved the obstacles and ensured smooth traffic.
In the area from Vinh to Da Nang, many signal information poles were broken by strong winds, causing widespread power outages and many cameras at level crossings were damaged. The locations of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway bridge and tunnel No. 6 made of stone were damaged and the tunnel walls were pushed apart. The unit has repaired and restored the road.
Up to now, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway area in Vinh and Dong Hoi has had heavy rain and strong winds, causing many large trees and electric poles to fall onto the railway, causing traffic jams. The unit is proactively resolving the obstacles to clear the train as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Construction has directed Vietnam Railways Corporation to continuously update information, proactively resolve obstacles, operate trains to serve transportation, and ensure traffic safety.
Previously, from 10pm on September 28 until now, many trains moving through the Central region had to stop at some stations, leading to delays to stations along the route.
In order to support and share with passengers, the railway industry has organized free meals for passengers. As of 9:00 a.m. on September 29, 2025, 1,500 breakfasts were served to passengers on affected trains.
According to regulations, if passenger trains are delayed for more than 120 minutes, the railway industry will organize free meals for passengers on board.
For passengers with tickets for suspended trips, the railway industry will organize the refund of train tickets without any fees. The maximum time to return tickets at the station is 30 days from the date of travel stated on the ticket.
Vietnam Railways continues to closely monitor the storm's developments, coordinate with relevant authorities to promptly inform passengers and operate trains safely and smoothly.
