Equipment trucks are completing the final stages on the main highway section through Thuan Minh commune, Ham Thuan Bac district.
Like the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway, some items such as the residential access road will be completed after the project is inaugurated. Because of the investment from the state budget, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway and 8 sections of the North - South expressway are being proposed by the Ministry of Transport to pilot toll collection. The pilot period is 5 years from the date the plan is approved by the National Assembly .
After the two expressways Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet are put into operation, the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang (more than 420 km) will be significantly shortened. Of the five expressway sections (Ho Chi Minh City - Dau Giay, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Nha Trang - Cam Lam), only the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao section (more than 78 km long) has not been completed.
