In the Netherlands ' 3-1 win over Feyenoord in Group E of the Champions League, Atletico striker Mario Hermoso volleyed home from an angle almost identical to the legendary Marco Van Basten's masterpiece in the Euro 1988 final.
In the 57th minute of the Feyenoord - Atletico Madrid match on the evening of November 28, Hermoso increased the score to 2-0 for the Spanish team. After a high pass into the penalty area from his teammate, the Spanish player volleyed with his left foot from a narrow angle. The ball went into the far corner of the goal, surprising the goalkeeper and Feyenoord defenders.
