On the morning of September 23, the 2025 Golden Ball award ceremony ended with the victory belonging to Ousmane Dembele (PSG), while Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) came in second and almost made history at the age of 18. After the ceremony, the father of the Barca prodigy had a strong and confident message about his son's future.

FC Barca young talent Lamine Yamal is considered one of the strong candidates and many believe he will win.

Despite finishing second in the Ballon d'Or race, Yamal showed respect for Dembele on stage when the French striker was announced. Shortly after, Lamine Yamal's father, Mounir Nasraoui, shared his confidence in front of the camera.

He greeted the Spanish fans and confirmed that his son would win the Ballon d'Or next year. "Next year will be ours," declared Mounir Nasraoui.

Despite missing out on the Ballon d'Or, Yamal went on to make history by becoming the first player to win the Kopa Cup twice in a row, an award given to the best player under the age of 21 in the world .

He overcame other young talents such as Desire Doue, Joao Neves, Estevao and Kenan Yildiz. Winning the Kopa Cup for the second time in a row is a recognition of his talent and continuous progress for club and country.

The Ballon D'or is an award organized by France Football magazine to honor outstanding individuals, teams and coaches of the 2024-2025 season.

According to France Football , the Golden Ball is chosen based on three criteria: individual performance, team performance and fair play. 50 journalists from the top 50 countries in the FIFA men's rankings and 50 journalists from the top 50 countries in the FIFA women's rankings voted to choose the winner of the Golden Ball.

Each journalist selected 10 players, scoring them from 15 down to 1. The player with the highest total score was the winner.
