Correcting the use of expired chemicals in drug quality testing

Accordingly, units need to review, amend, supplement and improve the quality management system of drug testing rooms; maintain compliance with the principles and standards of "Good Laboratory Practice"; strengthen management in testing activities, ensure that chemicals, solvents, reagents and standards used are appropriate and within their expiry date. Testing units are not allowed to use expired chemicals, solvents, reagents and standards or those that do not meet quality standards to test drug samples; conduct quality testing of drugs and drug ingredients to fully meet the criteria according to current regulations...

Recently, the Ministry of Health Inspectorate discovered that some state drug testing facilities have not maintained a quality system that meets principles and standards. Notably, there is still the use of expired chemicals in drug testing; some chemicals have not been monitored and have not been fully traced for expiry date information; testing records do not have full information on expiry dates of chemicals used...

The activities of drug quality inspection, supervision, quality of test results and full and accurate assessment of drug quality are the basis for drug quality management. However, the inspection agency of the Ministry of Health has recently discovered the above-mentioned shortcomings in drug testing at state-owned units.
