Specifically, the delegation came to survey the sand mining area MS03 (in Nhon My commune, Ke Sach district) exploited by Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC to serve package No. 12 of component project 4.

According to the contractor's report, the MS03 sand mine has an area of about 53.9 hectares, with a reserve allowed to be exploited of over 466,000 m3, within 7 months. Currently, Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC is exploiting with an output of about 1,200 m3/day, reaching about 40% of the licensed daily capacity.

Next, the delegation went to survey the MS01 sand mine (in Phong Nam and An Lac Tay communes, Ke Sach district). This sand mine is allowed to be exploited with a reserve of 1.18 million m3 (allowed to be exploited until 2028), with a maximum exploitation capacity of 1,093 m3/day.

Currently, the contractor has arranged transport vessels with a maximum transport capacity of 1,600m3/day. The contractor ensures enough vessels to transport all the sand exploited from the MS01 mine to the highway project.

The delegation also moved to the sea sand transfer area in Dai An 1 commune, Cu Lao Dung district to survey the transfer area and transfer of sea sand. This location is over 35km away from the B1 sea sand mine area that is being exploited towards the sea.

Here, many workers with pumps and suction machines work continuously to transfer sand from the mining ship to the transport ship to the highway project.

According to information from VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company (the unit exploiting sea sand at mine B1), the quality of the exploited sea sand when brought to the project to be used as filling material is assessed as very good.

Currently, VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company has mobilized additional vehicles and mining equipment to promptly meet the demand for sand filling for the Hau Giang - Ca Mau expressway.

At the sand transfer area, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Lau requested that transport ships and sand dredgers must install GPS so that the province's inter-sectoral working group on sand exploitation can monitor their journeys to help closely manage sand exploitation activities and resolutely handle violations of the law.

Regarding sand mines on the Hau River, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested sand mining units to coordinate with relevant agencies to increase sand suction vehicles and sand transport ships to the highway.

"Vehicles participating in exploitation and transportation must be fully registered, inspected and equipped with monitoring equipment to help ensure sand exploitation is in accordance with the licensed reserves," the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested.
