Fierce fire at a house along Tau Hu canal, causing great property damage

According to initial information, at around 8:00 p.m. on April 1, a fire suddenly broke out in a residential area on Pham The Hien Street, near the foot of the Y-shaped bridge, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, and then quickly spread to many houses along Tau Hu Canal.

A few minutes later, the fire broke out fiercely. People called the fire police for help and tried to put out the fire but failed. The fire spread strongly, burning down many houses.

“Because the burning area had a lot of flammable materials, and was surrounded by temporary houses, the fire quickly spread, rose high, and became a large fire,” said Mr. Trung, a resident on Pham The Hien Street.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Police and Rescue Force, District 8 Police arrived at the scene to put out the fire and assist people to leave the fire area. The Fire Police and Rescue Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police are also sending forces and vehicles to the scene to support. At the same time, they quickly mobilized forces to evacuate dozens of households in the area from dangerous areas, blocking off a section of Pham The Hien Street to serve the fire fighting work.

A representative of Ward 2 People's Committee, District 8 said that the fire has been basically extinguished, and firefighters are still spraying water to cool it down. At least 4 houses were burned down and completely collapsed, but fortunately there were no human casualties.
