Da Nang: Opening of the East-West Economic Corridor 2025 International Fair

DNVN - On the evening of October 1, the 2025 East-West Economic Corridor International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair - Da Nang opened at the Da Nang Exhibition Fair Center.

Taking place from October 1-6, the East-West Economic Corridor - Da Nang 2025 International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair (EWEC - Da Nang 2025 Fair) is the first international trade promotion event held since the administrative merger of Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Da Nang currently has a population of more than 3 million people and is the largest city among the 6 centrally-run cities with 2 international airports, 3 international seaports and a fairly synchronous transportation system, connecting seamlessly along the North-South and East-West axes.

Accordingly, logistics is considered a key industry, connecting Tien Sa, Lien Chieu, and Chu Lai seaports to the Mekong sub-region countries via the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC); helping to connect regions more effectively, facilitating trade, transporting goods and providing services between localities, while creating a more attractive tourism and investment destination.

The atmosphere of sightseeing and shopping at the fair is quite exciting.

Being an annual event for nearly 20 years, the EWEC - Da Nang Fair creates conditions for localities on the EWEC route to introduce their achievements. At the same time, it is an opportunity for countries, foreign localities and international organizations with diplomatic relations with Da Nang City to display and introduce their potential, strengths and investment cooperation opportunities to businesses, tourists, people of the City and provinces and cities in the region.

This year's fair brings together more than 220 booths of 150 businesses from 20 provinces and cities across the country, along with businesses, diplomatic agencies and international organizations from 6 countries including Russia, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.

Within the framework of the fair, there are many exciting activities and events such as displaying and introducing OCOP products, typical rural industries, etc.; industrial products; tourism products and services and investment calling projects, high-tech zones and industrial zones of Da Nang city.

The conference on connecting trade and promoting exports - Da Nang 2025; training on "Skills in applying digital technology in business activities for enterprises" was organized to practically contribute to improving competitiveness and expanding cooperation opportunities.

Mr. Le Hoang Tai - Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that the EWEC - Da Nang 2025 Fair is part of the National Trade Promotion Program organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the People's Committee of Da Nang City. This is a practical and effective tool in expanding the market, promoting cooperation, increasing the value of the supply chain and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises.

The fair not only introduces the socio-economic achievements and investment, trade and tourism potential of the Central Highlands provinces but also promotes cooperation opportunities with countries on the EWEC route and the Mekong sub-region, contributing to realizing the country's economic growth goals.
