In 2024, the Branch introduced the Long An Provincial Literature and Arts Association (old) to admit 14 new members, bringing the total number of current members of the Branch to 72, including 61 local Folk Arts Association (VNDG) members and 11 Central VNDG members.
The association operates mainly in the fields of collecting, researching, and promoting VNDG culture; popularizing and teaching folk performing arts - Southern amateur music; popularizing and teaching Vietnamese calligraphy; popularizing and teaching folk performing arts - ball dancing.
In the field of collecting, researching and promoting folk culture, in 2024, Member Nguyen Hong Vinh researched topics such as: "The sound of the Chau drum in the art of Hat Boi" and the topic "Vancouver House" - a cultural feature of the Southern region. He completed the topic "The sound of the Chau drum in the art of Hat Boi", which was highly appreciated by the Central Association of Folk Arts in 2024. The topic "Vancouver House" is expected to be completed in early 2025. Members have researched and made scientific dossiers of 02 national intangible cultural heritages: Tan Chanh Communal House Festival, Can Duoc district and Binh An drum making profession in Tan Tru district, the dossier is expected to be completed in 2025.
Regarding the activities of amateur music (ĐCTT), the Association members actively participate in performing activities to serve the political and entertainment needs of people inside and outside the province. Notably, they participate in building the program and performing the ĐCTT Exchange between Can Tho - Long An - Ca Mau; the ĐCTT Exchange performance program on the occasion of the "Ripe Fruit Season" Festival of Binh Duong in 2024; serving cultural exchanges on the occasion of the 2nd Cultural - Sports - Tourism Week of Long An province in 2024,...
In addition, the DCTT members of the Branch also participated in art appraisal and performance for events such as: Special activities, competitions, festivals, cultural exchanges organized by the Department of Culture, local departments in and outside the province.
The Association members actively contributed content to the development of the "Project to preserve and develop the art of Don Ca Tai Tu, roadmap 2024 - 2026 and vision to 2030". The project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in April 2024.
Many calligraphy artists of the Association participate in calligraphy exchanges outside the province, donating calligraphy letters at events and occasions such as: Ong Do Dat Viet Festival; Ky Yen Festival at Khanh Hau communal house; death anniversary of Tien Quan, Quan Cong Nguyen Huynh Duc; welcoming Tet Nguyen Tieu; death anniversary of musician Nguyen Quang Dai...
Regarding the ball dance activity, Artisan Le Minh Hung maintains his participation in serving activities at major festivals such as: Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival (An Giang), held annually on March 23 (Lunar calendar); Ba Den Mountain Festival (Tay Ninh), held annually on May 4-5 (Lunar calendar); Ba Thien Hau Festival (Binh Duong), held annually on January 14-15 (Lunar calendar); Ngu Hanh Long Thuong Temple Festival (Long An), held annually on February 15-16 (Lunar calendar). Artisan Le Minh Hung is the only member of the Association active in the folk performing art of ball dance.
The association pays special attention to training and passing on the profession. The artisans actively participate in teaching and opening classes at home on traditional music, calligraphy, ball dancing, etc. for the younger generation, students, as well as those who love folk arts, thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of traditional cultural values.
At the closing ceremony, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association awarded decisions and admitted 14 new members.
The Organizing Committee also announced and presented the Decision of the Vietnam Folk Arts Association, admitting Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh as an official member of the Association.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association Nguyen Lanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the members of the Folk Arts Association in the past time. At the same time, he believed that in the coming time, the Association will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and creativity, step up the work of collecting, researching, promoting and teaching folk cultural values, contributing to the construction and development of an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity./.
