In the second stage of Viettel Marathon 2024 which took place in early December, Nguyen Thi Oanh showed an extremely impressive performance when she won the marathon distance (42.194 km). It was very impressive because her achievement of 2 hours 39 minutes 49 seconds surpassed the national record she held herself (the old record was 2 hours 44 minutes 20 seconds).

Nguyen Thi Oanh will continue to be present in stage 3 of the Viettel Marathon 2024 taking place on December 22 at Angkor Wat (Cambodia). She continues to be a strong candidate for the women's marathon championship title. Not only that, with the beautiful race route around the UNESCO heritage complex Angkor Wat, the runner from Bac Giang promises to create a new record milestone. Meanwhile, in the men's marathon, stage 2 champion Hoang Nguyen Thanh and runner-up Nguyen Van Lai continue to be present, promising to recreate the dramatic competition.

Previously, stage 1 in Luang Prabang (Laos) had the participation of 5,000 athletes, stage 2 in Hanoi created an explosion with more than 10,000 athletes.
