The shop owner could not find a delivery staff.

With only a few days left until Lunar New Year 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh - owner of an online clothing shop in Hanoi, is trying to pack the last orders to deliver to customers. However, she is waiting impatiently because she cannot contact the shipping units to deliver the goods.

Ms. Anh said that the number of orders has increased rapidly and piled up, making her not know how to handle it. For orders within Hanoi, although finding shippers is difficult, she can still arrange them. As for orders from other provinces, she is at a loss.

"There are many orders, customers request before Tet, while previous delivery partners are overloaded, not accepting orders or orders that have been received but cannot be shipped. They do not commit to delivering the goods to customers on time. I am losing a lot of money because many customers have canceled orders because they did not receive the goods before Tet," said Ms. Anh.

The above situation does not only happen in Ms. Anh’s case. On social networking forums, online shop owners also continuously cry and complain when talking about the overload of delivery companies affecting business operations.

Talking to Lao Dong, a clothing shop owner on Xuan Thuy Street (Cau Giay, Hanoi) said that the store had notified customers that it would not accept orders to the provinces and suburbs of Hanoi because it could not find a shipping unit.

"I understand that goods are currently piling up in Giao Hang Tiet Kiem's warehouse, while the trucks are empty and without drivers. If this situation continues, it will affect the entire supply chain. Stores cannot ship goods and customers cannot receive their orders, the consequences are not small" - said the clothing store owner.

In addition to problems with delivery and transportation, customers complained about the difficulty in contacting the customer service department of some shipping units. Most of the other end of the line is always busy, or no one answers the phone. Customers texting the hotline through customer service software is also not possible.

Currently, on social networks, posts complaining about the transportation situation are increasing. However, this is not a new situation, it happens almost every year but has not been resolved by the transportation units.

Many shipping companies stop accepting goods to the provinces.

A representative of the delivery company Viettel Post said that the company is currently still accepting all orders as normal. However, some overloaded post offices may refuse orders to distant provinces. This depends on the operation of each post office and is not part of Viettel Post's policy.

In addition, this employee also added that the company only accepts orders to the provinces from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City until December 23. After that date, the company will not accept long-distance orders or accept orders but will deliver after Lunar New Year.

Meanwhile, Fast Delivery also announced that for inter-regional shipping orders to the provinces, the company will not accept orders after 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd of the lunar calendar.

For inter-regional orders, the company will stop accepting them after 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd day of the lunar calendar; for orders within Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the company will stop accepting them after 6:00 p.m. on the 25th day of the lunar calendar.

For the remaining provinces and cities, Fast Delivery announces that it will stop accepting orders after 6:00 p.m. on the 24th of the lunar calendar...

Responding to Lao Dong, a representative of the Saving Delivery Company (GHTK) confirmed that in recent days the company has stopped accepting orders in some local areas.

"In the last 2 weeks before Tet, the amount of goods from e-commerce sites entering the shipping network of this unit has increased dramatically, affecting the quality of operations. Therefore, GHTK was forced to temporarily stop accepting orders in some local areas to ensure the quality of operations. There is no employee strike at this enterprise," a GHTK representative informed.
