Vietnam Boxing Federation President may continue long-term absence

(Dan Tri) - The meeting of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) this afternoon (September 4) still did not have the participation of VBF President Luu Tu Bao, even though it was in online format.

VBF informed that they invited Mr. Liu Xiu Bao to attend the VBF regular meeting this afternoon, via online meeting from the US. However, Mr. Bao still did not attend the meeting.

A member of VBF said that the reason Mr. Luu Tu Bao had told him about his return to the US at the end of February and had not returned to Vietnam was due to a legal problem. However, this problem was not the same as what some foreign media reported.

Due to the above mentioned legal troubles, it is expected that VBF President Luu Tu Bao will not be able to return to Vietnam for the next few months to directly manage VBF's work.

Currently, VBF requires Mr. Luu Tu Bao to have a power of attorney to hand over work to another person at VBF.

In the coming time, if VBF continues to be unable to contact the President of this organization, Mr. Luu Tu Bao, VBF will elect an Acting President to manage the work of the Vietnam Boxing Federation.

During the past time, when Mr. Luu Tu Bao was absent, VBF's work was handled by Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Duy Hung.

In addition to being the President of VBF, Mr. Luu Tu Bao is also the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Mixed Martial Arts Federation (HMMAF). Mr. Luu Tu Bao has dual citizenship of the United States and Vietnam.
