President Luong Cuong to visit Laos

(Dan Tri) - President Luong Cuong will pay a State visit to Laos from April 24 to 25 at the invitation of Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.

The friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been continuously strengthened and consolidated through visits, meetings and contacts at high and all levels.

During meetings and contacts, high-ranking leaders of the two countries agreed to continue to strengthen and consolidate political relations and special trust; and cooperate in security and defense to ensure security, order, and social safety.

The two sides also agreed to enhance comprehensive connectivity between the two economies , especially in infrastructure, transportation, investment, and tourism; and promote cooperation in other fields such as education and training, culture, science and technology, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.

At a recent meeting with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, President Luong Cuong affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam to always attach importance to and give the highest priority to developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The two leaders emphasized that the tradition of good relations between the two countries, built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong, and later generations of leaders of the two countries, including the late Party Chairman and President Khamtay Siphandone, will live forever.

The two leaders expressed their delight at the important results of bilateral relations in recent times, especially strengthening political trust, tightening security and defense cooperation, removing obstacles, promoting economic cooperation, and diversifying and enriching local exchanges.

The two sides emphasized the importance of actively coordinating and organizing well the major commemorative activities of the two countries in 2025, thereby contributing to raising the understanding of the younger generation, fostering traditions, promoting the spirit of solidarity and close attachment, and making the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos develop more and more brilliantly.
