Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issues "ultimatum" for Ngo Gia Tu apartment renovation project

(NLDO)- District 10 must urgently complete compensation and resettlement policies for the Ngo Gia Tu apartment renovation project, especially at the time of construction commencement.

On February 13, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced the conclusion of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai at the meeting to listen to the progress report of the project to build a new apartment complex in Ngo Gia Tu, District 10.

Built in 1968, after more than 50 years of operation, many items of Ngo Gia Tu apartment building have now degraded. However, the relocation, compensation support, and resettlement to renovate this apartment building are facing many difficulties.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Construction to urgently complete the quality inspection of apartment buildings by June 2025.

After more than 50 years of operation, many items of Ngo Gia Tu apartment building have degraded.

At the same time, study the legal regulations and experiences of some localities that have been implemented to guide the People's Committee of District 10 to establish a detailed plan at 1/500 scale; invite experienced and reputable investors to study and establish a detailed plan at 1/500 scale, submit to the competent authority for appraisal and approval. The implementation time is before February 28.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of District 10 must urgently complete the compensation, support and resettlement policy framework according to comments from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; draft a detailed plan to implement the project.

In particular, the specific time to start construction of the project and the work to be done are under the authority of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, relevant departments and branches and District 10 People's Committee. The completion time is before February 25.

In addition, the Chairman of District 10 People's Committee needs to proactively advise and propose decentralization and authorization for localities to carry out a number of tasks under the authority of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to proactively and effectively carry out the project of building a new Ngo Gia Tu apartment complex.

In addition, the People's Committee of District 10 reports to the Standing Committee of the District 10 Party Committee to lead and direct the implementation of the announcement of the adjustment of the 1/2,000 planning and the plan and roadmap for implementing the planning.
