After the AFF Cup 2024 final, Doan Ngoc Tan was the only player of the Vietnamese team who did not post any pictures of the championship on Facebook. The reason was that this player had his personal account taken over by a scammer.
" Before the match, I still used my account to text my wife via Facebook. But when the match ended and I was celebrating the championship on the field, I looked for my phone to log on to Facebook and discovered that my account had been taken over. Until now, I still cannot log on to my personal page ," Doan Ngoc Tan revealed.
According to the midfielder born in 1994, up to this point he still cannot reply to messages from relatives and friends via social networking applications. Ngoc Tan's wife also returned to Vietnam the morning after the match, while he remained in Thailand.
Doan Ngoc Tan's Facebook was taken over by a thief.
On the afternoon of January 6, Dong A Thanh Hoa club arrived in Thailand to prepare for the match against BG Pathum United in the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship. Unable to attend the celebration with the Vietnamese team, Doan Ngoc Tan stayed in Thailand and waited for his home club.
He was happy to see his teammates after nearly 2 months apart. In response, Luiz Antonio and many other players sent congratulations and warm hugs to the Vietnamese player.
Some players teased Doan Ngoc Tan: "This Tet, Doan Ngoc Tan's family will have a big Tet." He happily responded and affirmed that he and his teammates will organize a party when they return to Vietnam. Ngoc Tan, of course, can only contact his teammates through a few other messaging apps.
Because he could not return in time and could not bring much luggage when traveling with the Vietnamese team, Ngoc Tan had to ask his roommate Thanh Long to bring Thanh Hoa Club's uniform and competition clothes to Thailand. When meeting his new teammates from Vietnam, Ngoc Tan was still wearing the Vietnamese team's uniform.
The match between Dong A Thanh Hoa and Pathum United takes place at 7pm tomorrow, January 8.
