Preparing to celebrate the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang and major holidays

On the afternoon of August 11, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho chaired a meeting to listen to a report on preparations for organizing activities to celebrate the 137th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birthday (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2025) and approve the plan to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province Nguyen Diep Mai said that the activities to celebrate the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang will take place in two main ceremonies, including: Flower offering ceremony at the statue of President Ton Duc Thang, Long Xuyen ward, at 7:00 a.m. on August 20; Incense offering ceremony for President Ton Duc Thang will be held at 9:00 a.m. on August 20, at the Memorial Site of President Ton Duc Thang, My Hoa Hung commune.

Activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 will include: Visiting pre-uprising comrades and veteran revolutionary cadres; offering incense and flowers to commemorate heroic martyrs at the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery; art programs and fireworks displays in wards and special zones: Rach Gia, Ha Tien, Chau Doc, Long Xuyen and Phu Quoc; participating in the exhibition of socio -economic achievements at the National Exhibition Center...

In addition, An Giang province launched a patriotic emulation movement to achieve achievements to celebrate the event, associated with the successful implementation of targets and tasks of socio-economic development, national defense, security and the emulation movement to implement national target programs in 2025; the action program to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress towards the 14th National Party Congress, to celebrate major holidays in 2025.
