On the afternoon of October 3, the 1st Congress of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, held its closing session after two days of active, urgent, and serious work, in a democratic and united atmosphere, with a high sense of responsibility towards the Party Committee and people in the province.

The Congress passed the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. The goal by 2030 is that An Giang will be a fairly developed province in the country; a strong maritime economic center of the country; Phu Quoc special zone will reach international stature; Rach Gia will be a political - administrative, commercial - service, general and specialized center; the Long Xuyen - Chau Doc - Rach Gia - Ha Tien Quadrangle will be a driving force for industrial development, logistics and cultural and ecological tourism, a center for research and development of varieties and production of high-tech agriculture, aquaculture and medicinal herbs; border economic development, a hub for trade and cooperation with the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The socio -economic infrastructure system has developed synchronously and adapted to climate change. Digital transformation in the education and health systems is among the top in the country. Traditional cultural values ​​have been preserved and promoted. National defense and security have been maintained; foreign affairs have been proactive and open; social order and safety have been stable; social security has been ensured, and people's material and spiritual lives have been improved.

The province has identified three important breakthroughs, namely focusing on developing the marine economy, becoming a strong marine economic center of the country, focusing on developing marine tourism, focusing on Phu Quoc Special Zone to become the locomotive, spreading development to other regions and fields, and developing coastal cities.

The province completes regional highways, ports, Phu Quoc International Airport, Rach Gia Airport and studies the construction of an airport in Tho Chau Special Zone, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security; develops multi-purpose seaports and river ports, serving logistics, import-export and tourism; develops digital infrastructure, creating a national digital transformation platform, gradually developing the digital economy and digital society.

An Giang province has made a breakthrough in applying science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in all sectors and fields of the economy; comprehensively transforming the governance model, focusing on digital government; focusing on deep processing of agricultural, forestry and fishery products; training, attracting and using high-quality human resources.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the province set 36 targets in the socio-economic development strategy, notably including targets such as: Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) by 2030 reaching 630,370.27 billion VND; average GRDP growth rate reaching 11% or more; average GRDP per capita reaching over 6,300 USD or more; total budget revenue from 145,000 - 175,000 billion VND; total social investment capital reaching 649,007 billion VND; urbanization rate reaching over 50%; multidimensional poverty rate maintaining an average decrease of 0.3 - 0.5%/year; recognition of new rural communes reaching 100%; completion of more than 6,000 social housing units...

To achieve these goals, the province has promoted the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects, resolutely overcoming limitations and weaknesses in leadership and direction, concretizing and implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; promoting the strength of great national unity, the role of the people as the main subject, thoroughly grasping the viewpoint "people are the root", and agreeing to implement the motto "One An Giang - One vision - One will - One belief in victory".

Regarding socio-economic development, the province continues to build and perfect priority mechanisms and policies to promote rapid and sustainable economic development; restructure the economy on the basis of maximizing existing potential and strengths, establishing a sustainable economic growth model based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; develop the private economy to become the most important driving force for growth, promote linkages for development...

On the other hand, the province focuses resources and attracts investment to develop the An Giang border economic zone to become an important trading hub, a center for economic development and exchange between the countries of the Mekong Sub-region, especially in relations with Cambodia; promote the development of the marine economy, effectively implement the Project to develop An Giang into a strong marine economic center of the country; build a large fisheries center, a focal center associated with the raw material area for aquatic products in coastal areas, and form a biodiversity research center in Phu Quoc.

An Giang invests in infrastructure, promotes regional connectivity and cooperation between localities for socio-economic development; invests in developing and completing the road traffic system, especially the Chau Doc - Long Xuyen economic corridor; the border economic corridor; the corridor along Tien River - Hau River... connecting with the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, projects connecting coastal roads, expressways, national highways...; completes the inland waterway infrastructure system, maritime and aviation infrastructure, especially urgently completing the upgrading and expansion of Rach Gia Airport, Phu Quoc International Airport, An Thoi Seaport, Hon Chong Port...

The province strongly promotes the traditional values, culture and people of An Giang in the new period, linking cultural development with tourism development; builds and perfects mechanisms and policies on culture, education and training, and health care, creating new driving forces, contributing to promoting socio-economic development; preserves and effectively promotes the values ​​of traditional cultural heritages, especially the Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival, the Nguyen Trung Truc National Hero Festival, the Bay Nui Bull Racing Festival, etc.; speeds up the progress of building the dossier for the Oc Eo - Ba The Archaeological Site to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a World Cultural Heritage; Vinh Te Canal as a National Historical Relic.

In his closing speech at the Congress, An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai hoped that by 2030, An Giang would be a fairly developed province in the country, a strong maritime economic center of the country... with a synchronously developed socio-economic infrastructure system, adapting to climate change. Digital transformation in the education and health systems is among the top in the country. Traditional cultural values ​​are preserved and promoted. National defense and security are maintained; foreign affairs are proactive and open; social order and safety are stable; social security is ensured, the material and spiritual life of the people is improved, bringing An Giang province to develop with the whole country in the new era.
