Lam Dong province possesses unique natural landscapes and rich cultural identity. That is from the vast pine forests, the M'nong plateau bearing geological and historical marks to the golden sunny and white sand beaches. However, in the context of increasingly widespread climate change, Lam Dong always focuses on environmental protection, investing in diverse landscapes, close to nature and preserving its own unique features.
In particular, in recent times, the province has launched many campaigns to collect garbage at beaches, propagate not to bring plastic waste to Phu Quy island, use water and electricity economically; launched the movement "Each tourist saves water and electricity to protect the environment" and the program "Exchange garbage for gifts" of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark, creating a positive effect of a "green Lam Dong".
In recent days, many localities in the province have responded to the movement of planting trees, beautifying urban areas, celebrating major holidays and aiming to protect the environment, promoting the value of the ecosystem.
In Lam Vien ward - Da Lat, many activities for a green, clean and beautiful environment have been organized, bringing practical meaning. This is also an opportunity to arouse the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of all people in building a civilized and modern urban area while still maintaining the typical ecological beauty.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Vu Loan - Chairman of Lam Vien Ward People's Committee - Da Lat, the goal of the activity is to raise public awareness in environmental protection, reduce the impact of climate change, and contribute to improving the urban landscape of tourism . According to the plan, Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat will plant and take care of 68,000 trees and flowers in the area. This is an activity within the program of planting 50 million trees of Lam Dong province. In La Gi Ward, responding to the emulation movement "Saturday for a bright, green, clean and beautiful environment", hundreds of union members, youth, students and people have joined forces to clean up the environment in the Doi Duong - Binh Tan beach area.
Recently, at Doi Duong beach - Binh Tan, sightseeing and swimming activities have left behind many types of waste. Therefore, to protect the landscape and environment, union members, youth, armed forces and people have collected and cleaned up waste, cleaning the entire area. In addition to Doi Duong beach, along the Lam Dong coast, many other tourist destinations such as: Bai Duong Binh Thanh, Chi Cong poplar forest, Hoa Minh, Doi Duong Thuong Chanh, Cam Binh poplar forest... are also focused on by the government and people to collect waste and maintain public hygiene.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Director of Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, currently, the province has a number of green tourism areas, awarded with awards related to sustainable tourism development, environmentally friendly, hundreds of service establishments are recognized as meeting "green tourism criteria".
These honors affirm the core orientation that Lam Dong province is aiming for, which is to develop “green” tourism. The province’s motto is not only to focus on environmental protection and promoting the value of the ecosystem, but also to aim for sustainable growth. The province focuses on building development strategies, supporting businesses to invest in high-quality, safe, diverse and sustainable tourism areas, destinations and products. That is what has made Lam Dong’s image increasingly loved by tourists. “From those titles, Lam Dong has become the top choice for tourists who love nature, cool climate, poetic seascapes, exploration, adventure and healing. This has contributed to the remarkable growth in the number of visitors and tourism revenue in recent times,” Mr. Loc added.
