Series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Musician Phan Huynh Dieu

Sharing at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang city Nguyen Thi Hoi An said that Phan Huynh Dieu was born and raised in Da Nang city, one of the most typical musicians of Vietnamese revolutionary music in the 20th century.

As one of the musicians with many compositions associated with the length of the country and people's history, he has brought glory to Da Nang city, where he was born and started his musical career. The heart and soul of that musician always exudes closeness, familiarity, optimism and love of life. He is likened to a golden bird in the flock of birds flying tirelessly in the sky of Vietnamese music, although now only a shadow of memory, but never lost.

During his lifetime, he wrote many songs about his homeland, country, and love, imbued with the spirit of lightness, sweetness, optimism, and love for life. He always yearned for a “City Song”, “ Da Nang Song” for his hometown where he was born.

During his lifetime, he devoted his heart to writing songs about Quang Nam and Da Nang such as: Song of Nui Thanh, Da Nang is nostalgia, Da Nang, oh we have returned, You are love, Singing about the homeland city, The day I left Da Nang, Oh Han River, Green street, green color of your hair, Beloved Quang Nam, My beloved city, Returning to the Han River...

"With all our love and respect for the talented musician, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of musician Phan Huynh Dieu's birth, Da Nang City and the Vietnam Musicians Association organize a series of commemorative activities from November 8 to 18 as a deep gratitude for his contributions; at the same time, spreading the musical works that have accompanied the years of that musician to music lovers, especially the young generation", said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An.

According to the organizers, the series of activities to honor and recognize the great contributions of the talented musician to Vietnamese music includes 3 activities: Discussion on the life and creative career of Musician Phan Huynh Dieu (November 8 at Tien Son Sports Palace); Exhibition Phan Huynh Dieu - The returning bird (from November 8-18 at Da Nang Fine Arts Museum); Art program "Musician Phan Huynh Dieu - With love remaining".

The highlight of the series of commemorative activities is the art program "Musician Phan Huynh Dieu - With love remaining" which will be held at 8:00 p.m. on November 9 at Tien Son Sports Palace, Da Nang. The art program will recreate the musical journey of the artist who brought unique colors to the Vietnamese revolutionary and lyrical music genre with optimism, love of life and civilization, reviving melodies that have gone through the years and have become a heritage in the hearts of music lovers. The program also promises to bring the audience surprises with many works published for the first time by musician Phan Huynh Dieu. This is not only a deep gratitude to the talented artist but also an opportunity for the public to honor his lifelong contributions to the country's art.

The program has the participation of artists: People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Anh Tuyet, Meritorious Artist Khanh Ngoc, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, Meritorious Artist Van Khanh, Meritorious Artist To Nga, Meritorious Artist Pham The Vi, Singer Ngoc Son, Singer Thanh Tra, MTV Group, Red Sun Group, Da Nang Children's Group....

Musician Phan Huynh Dieu - a giant of revolutionary music, a musical soul that has left a deep mark on the hearts of Vietnamese people. With such great contributions, Musician Phan Huynh Dieu was honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts from the State in 2000.
