On May 1, 2023, he sent an email reminding his girlfriend to open the box he had given her for her birthday in 2018. She discovered inside the box were instructions for translating Morse code and clues to the codes inside the gift her boyfriend had given her in 2017.

The 2017 gift was filled with origami otters. Inside each otter was a code. By decoding the code, she pieced together the message he wanted to convey.

However, the inscription was missing three words. These words were hidden in two lavender bags that he gave her in 2019.

Ravelyn admitted it took her a while to calm down, but she said that no matter how the proposal was worded, it was something she had always wanted.

"I don't need decorations, flowers or a fancy venue. I just need him. I was surprised to know that he had already prepared a proposal," she shared.
