
Berklee is known for having many students and alumni who have won major awards, especially with the group of 4 EGOT awards: 49 Emmy awards, more than 300 Grammy awards, 8 Oscar awards, 28 Tony awards.
For many years, Berklee has had students from Vietnam studying here. Artist Tran Manh Tuan was the first Vietnamese student to receive a scholarship to study here (1996), followed by musician Duc Tri (2000). Both became prominent names in the fields of composing, producing, performing music , opening and pioneering many music genres in Vietnam. Some other artists also participated in short-term courses at Berklee, such as: Thu Minh, Doan Trang, Lam Truong...

In the context of the music industry is developing strongly in Vietnam as today, Berklee opens its doors to welcome Vietnamese students. This is the second year that the school has sent representatives to Ho Chi Minh City to directly interview students and award scholarships.
According to Mr. Daniel Abussi - Deputy Director of Admissions at Berklee School of Music, the opportunity to become a Berklee student is open to everyone, with a variety of courses, from short summer courses, online courses to full-time university training programs. Berklee gives students the opportunity to expand their creative space. They learn how to incorporate folk music materials into modern music, turning traditional music into global music. That is also what Vietnamese students are doing very well, the pioneer is artist Tran Manh Tuan.



Previously, Vietnamese students who wanted to participate in the entrance exam and scholarship interviews often had to go to neighboring countries such as Singapore, China... Now, young people can do it right in Vietnam, with 4 days of admission at Sax 'n Art Club - Jazz Club of artist Tran Manh Tuan in An Khanh ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Each year, Berklee spends $110 million on scholarships of varying amounts, depending on the region, country, and student ability.
