Border life through the lens of a border guard

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Over the years, Major Le Hai Chuyen, working at the Political Department of the Provincial Border Guard, has always been persistent in staying close to the base, promptly reflecting all aspects of the Provincial Border Guard's activities as well as the lives of people in the border area. From training tasks, combat readiness, patrolling to protect sovereignty, fighting against crime, to mass mobilization work, rescue, helping people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty... are all recorded realistically and vividly through his lens and writings.

In performing his professional duties, he advised the Political Department and the Provincial Border Guard Command to promote propaganda work on the results of the task of protecting the national border security and territorial sovereignty of officers, soldiers and people of all ethnic groups on the two border lines; the work of preventing the COVID-19 epidemic and illegal entry and exit; strengthening propaganda work to prevent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; actively participating in competitions and television festivals and achieving high results.

Major Le Hai Chuyen said: "Assigned to be in charge of the column team and directly participating in propaganda work, I always clearly identify my role and responsibility, regardless of difficulties and hardships, day or night, rain or shine, I and my comrades in the team have performed well the task of going to remote villages, epidemic prevention teams and checkpoints on the two border lines, following officers and soldiers in patrolling, controlling trails and openings, detecting illegal entry cases. From there, promptly, honestly and accurately reflect the activities of officers, soldiers and people in epidemic prevention and control and performing the task of firmly protecting the sovereignty of the national border security".

Over the past 5 years, Major Le Hai Chuyen, along with his colleagues in the column team, has built outlines, completed scripts and broadcast hundreds of reports, news and articles reflecting the activities of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard. In 2022, the column team participated in the 13th Army Television Festival, resulting in 2 works winning silver medals and 2 works receiving Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense . In 2024, he participated in the 14th Army Television Festival and won 1 gold medal and 1 silver medal. In 2025, he participated in the Reportage Festival on the theme of revolutionary war and armed forces in the period 2020-2025, winning the army's C prize.

With his achievements in work, Major Le Hai Chuyen has received many certificates of merit from all levels and sectors. The pages he and his column team have written have been contributing to spreading the beautiful image of the Border Guard not only on the front line of protecting sovereignty, but also on the information front, bringing the green uniform closer to the public.
