Da Nang extends progress "last time" for project worth over 151 billion VND

The Tam Giang Bridge project has a total investment of more than 151 billion VND, the bridge length is 210.5 m and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are 469.5 m long. The project is invested with the goal of completing the infrastructure, meeting the requirements of socio -economic development, ensuring national security and defense.

The project started construction in 2017 and was expected to be completed in July 2018, but after many adjustments to the project implementation time, the project remains unfinished.

According to the Quang Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board, currently, the project's demand for fill soil is about 10,000 m3, however, the source of fill soil in the area is scarce and cannot meet the project's needs, which greatly affects the organization of construction of the roadbed leading to Tam Giang commune (old).

The Tam Giang bridge project has been underway for many years but is still not completed.

After the district level was dissolved, the project was handed over to the Quang Nam Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board. However, up to now, the competent authority has not yet rearranged the capital source, causing difficulties in the implementation process.

In addition, due to compensation and site clearance issues, the project has been delayed for many years. Up to now, the contractor has encountered financial difficulties, making it difficult to organize and implement the construction.

Faced with the above difficulties, the investor requested the People's Committee of Da Nang City to remove difficulties in the need for land for the project, and at the same time promptly arrange capital to carry out the remaining volume.

Direct the City Land Fund Development Center to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance for the Tam Giang Bridgehead Landscape Improvement Project on the Nui Thanh town side, and hand over the site to implement the construction of the longitudinal drainage ditch.

Currently, the bridge has degraded, the current state of the bridge structure is damaged, affecting traffic safety on the route. Therefore, the Project Management Board proposes that the City People's Committee consider and agree on the immediate policy of completing the asphalt pavement of the bridge and about 240m of the approach road on both sides of the bridge, connecting it to the existing road, and supplementing the traffic organization to hand over and put it into operation to reduce traffic volume through the old Tam Giang Bridge. The remaining items will continue to be implemented and completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

By August 26, 2025, the project implementation period will expire; therefore, the Management Board proposes that the City People's Committee consider and agree to extend the implementation period of the project construction package contract until the end of November 2025.

Inspecting the actual project, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, requested the units to urgently complete the project, including completing the second layer of asphalt by October 30 and ensuring traffic on the new bridge to reduce traffic volume on the old bridge. The entire project must be completed and put into use by 2025.

Regarding the project implementation time, Mr. Tran Nam Hung agreed to adjust the project progress and emphasized that this is also the last time the time is adjusted for this project.
