Promoting the 'quad resolutions' for An Giang to achieve double-digit growth

DNVN - This is the primary task and solution for An Giang province to achieve a double-digit growth rate in the 2025 - 2030 term.

The 1st Congress of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, has just been successfully held. The Congress has completed all the contents and programs set out, and agreed on resolutions on 36 targets, including 10 economic targets. Notably, the average GRDP growth rate over the past 5 years has reached 11% or more.

An Giang develops provincial tourism services to become a strong national and international brand, taking Phu Quoc as an international-class eco-tourism and resort center.

Presenting solutions and tasks to complete the targets in the coming term, Mr. Pham Minh Tam - Director of the Department of Finance of An Giang province said that by 2030, the economic structure will shift towards increasing the proportion of the industrial - construction sector to 25%, services to 50% and gradually reducing the agricultural sector to about 20% but still increasing value and income for people, ensuring food security and sustainable development.

To achieve a double-digit growth rate in the 2025 - 2030 term, the province needs to identify potentials and advantages, arrange development space, adjust provincial planning, concentrate resources, develop plans and implementation roadmaps, and focus on 9 tasks and solutions: First of all, promote the effectiveness of Resolutions No. 57, 59, 66 and 68 of the Politburo in shifting economic structure, innovating growth models, improving productivity, quality, added value and competitiveness of the economy.

According to Mr. Tam, in addition to the above tasks and solutions, the province needs to focus on developing a modern, sustainable and high-value-added agricultural economy, through the application of advanced, modern technology, smart production in the direction of green, circular, digital... creating a foundation to promote the development of deep processing and refined processing industries associated with concentrated raw material areas according to the planning orientation of the agricultural sector, in which it is necessary to develop seed research centers, promote marine farming in which An Giang province has strengths.

Innovate the model and quality of industrial growth from breadth to depth. Promote investment attraction to develop key industries such as food processing industry, medicinal materials, renewable energy, etc. Develop the province's tourism services to become a strong national and international brand, taking Phu Quoc as a center for international-class eco-tourism and resorts, a destination to lead and connect with other important tourist areas and spots such as Cam Mountain, Sam Mountain, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest, U Minh Thuong, and rural ecological river areas.

At the same time, organize the establishment, adjustment and implementation of provincial planning and specialized planning in a synchronous manner, focusing on the marine spatial planning of Phu Quoc and Kien Hai special zones associated with Tho Chau special zone in accordance with the national marine spatial planning to concentrate resources on investing in connecting infrastructure, creating favorable conditions to attract investors in potential fields...

Completing the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang, Ha Tien - Rach Gia - Bac Lieu expressways. National Highways 91, 80, N1, Vam Cong - Rach Soi, intra-provincial connecting routes: Rach Gia - Long Xuyen, Chau Doc - Ha Tien, upgrading and expanding Phu Quoc International Airport, Rach Gia Airport, river ports, seaports to connect smoothly with internal traffic routes to major economic centers Rach Gia, Long Xuyen, Chau Doc, Ha Tien, industrial parks, industrial clusters, border economic zones, production areas and key tourist areas and spots of the province, to act as a lever to attract investment.

Synchronously implement policies to attract, reward talents and train human resources, especially developing a team of intellectuals, experts, and leading scientists in key, important, and new fields, especially in the fields of science, technology, digital transformation, and green transformation to create new driving forces to promote growth.

The head of the financial sector of An Giang province said that, in addition to the above tasks and solutions, to achieve a double-digit growth rate, the participation of the entire political system and the support of the business community and people is needed.
