Previously, from the night of October 15 to the early morning of October 16, heavy rain caused a large amount of soil and rock on the slope of the service road of the North-South Expressway project in Long Binh village (Tuy An Bac commune) to collapse, flooding the residential area below. Households had to abandon their belongings and flee during the night.
The landslide affected at least four households in Long Binh village. Rocks and soil flooded into houses and damaged some property.
In addition, soil and rocks from the project also overflowed onto some roads such as DT 641, DH 33 and concrete roads, affecting traffic participants.

Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Commander of Thang Long Corporation - JSC said that in the past, when it rained, the amount of water flowing into the public road was insignificant. However, during the rain from the night of October 15 to the early morning of October 16, the amount of water flowing was so large that landslides occurred, flooding residential areas. Currently, the unit is fixing the problem by creating drainage ditches and using tarps to cover the slope on the residential side to prevent landslides.
In the long term, according to the design, a retaining wall will be built and rock cages will be installed in the bridge abutment area (the landslide section into the houses - PV) to prevent landslides and ensure safety for the residential area below.
