An Giang Provincial Party Committee held the 1st Congress, term 2025

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai attended and directed the congress. Also attending the congress were alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province Tran Thi Thanh Huong; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized that in the 2020 - 2025 term, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Kien Giang province and An Giang province (now An Giang province) have overcome difficulties and achieved many comprehensive achievements.

Party building work of grassroots party organizations is always given attention and direction, especially in leading the implementation of political tasks.

The province's socio-economic situation continues to maintain stability and develop quite comprehensively. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction; key projects and works have been deployed and attracted; science, technology, innovation, creativity, and digital transformation have achieved positive results, creating momentum for breakthrough development in the coming time. National defense and security have been maintained; the lives of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, and people have been improved.

The 1st Congress of the Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, with the theme "Promoting democracy, solidarity, strengthening discipline, building a clean and strong Party; promoting science, technology, innovation, creativity, digital transformation; exploiting potentials and advantages to build An Giang province to develop rapidly and sustainably".

To achieve and exceed the targets and tasks set out in the congress resolution, the congress identified 1 action program, 2 breakthroughs, 3 key tasks, 4 main solutions, and 5 implementation projects.

Speaking at the congress, on behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai praised, highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements that the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee have strived to achieve in the past term.

To meet the requirements of the tasks set out in the new situation, comrade Nguyen Tien Hai basically agrees with the directions, goals, tasks and solutions stated in the congress's political report.

The Provincial Party Secretary also suggested a number of key issues that the Provincial Party Committee needs to pay attention to in the 2025 - 2030 term: The Provincial Party Committee needs to be steadfast and creatively apply Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought, maintain solidarity and unity within the Party Committee and in each grassroots Party organization, especially in the leadership collective; improve the leadership capacity, fighting strength of the Party organization and the quality of Party members. Strengthen inspection and supervision, strictly maintain discipline and order; promote the responsibility of setting an example, promote the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility for the common good .

Resolutely prevent and combat corruption, negativity and waste. Urgently review unfinished investment projects and works that have not been accepted or put into use; projects and works that are at risk of loss and waste to focus on leadership and direction to find solutions to remove and handle them thoroughly. Identify important projects and works, especially infrastructure , to focus on investment, remove bottlenecks for balanced and harmonious development between regions and fields of the province; at the same time , create conditions to accelerate and make breakthroughs for a number of key areas and fields.

Regarding economic development, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai requested the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to focus on rapid and sustainable socio-economic development; taking science, technology, innovation, creativity, and digital transformation as breakthroughs. Organize the synchronous and drastic implementation of the resolutions of the Central and Provincial Party Committees, and immediately after the congress, the Provincial Party Committee's Executive Committee will develop and issue socio-economic development projects; strive to complete and exceed socio-economic development targets for the period 2025 - 2030.

The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on appointing the first Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 40 comrades; the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee consists of 14 comrades; appointing comrade Ho Van Mung, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
