Vietcombank Party Committee: Solidarity - Democracy - Courage - Breakthrough - Development

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Courage - Breakthrough - Development", the 5th Congress of Vietcombank Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 took place solemnly and successfully. This is a major political event, marking an important turning point of the Party Committee in the process of comprehensively renovating the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), aiming at the goal of strong and sustainable development, continuing to affirm the pioneering role of the leading state-owned bank in Vietnam.

Steady steering thanks to the guiding light of the Party

The 2020 - 2025 term took place in a context of profound global fluctuations such as: the Covid-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, financial tightening, supply chain disruptions and digital competition; facing "the big waves of the times", Vietcombank remained steady at the helm thanks to the guiding light of the Party.

Implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the directions of the Central Committee, the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises (formerly), the Party Committee of the Government and the State Bank, the Vietcombank Party Committee promptly concretized it into the action program for the entire term, thematic resolutions; all decisions from business, administration, transformation to social security were under the unified and consistent leadership of the Party organization. Thanks to that, the Vietcombank Party Committee achieved most of the common goals set out in the Resolution of the 4th Vietcombank Party Congress.

By June 30, 2025, Vietcombank's total assets exceeded VND2.2 trillion, an increase of 1.8 times compared to the beginning of the term. Outstanding credit reached nearly VND1.6 trillion, a growth exceeding the industry average. The bad debt ratio is always controlled at a low level - below 1%, the bad debt coverage ratio is the highest in the system, about 213%. In the period of 2020 - 2025, Vietcombank is the bank that contributes the most to the State budget, with more than VND62,000 billion and is the bank with the highest charter capital among credit institutions with VND83,600 billion, after 2 capital increases.

In the context of science and technology, innovation is identified as the new pillar of the economy , digital transformation at Vietcombank in the past term has become a driving force throughout, reshaping thinking and actions, operating methods and customer service methods.

Vietcombank has proactively built the program.   digital transformation action by 2025. To date, more than 84% of retail operations have been moved to the digital environment, with technology systems processing hundreds of millions of transactions per day. Digibot, Voicebot, RPA and data analytics initiatives are gradually redefining operational efficiency and enhancing customer experience.

In addition, Vietcombank is the first bank to synchronously deploy electronic authentication solutions with VNeID and chip-embedded CCCD on multiple channels from July 1, 2024. For Vietcombank, digital transformation is not only a competitive tool, but also a development philosophy, in which data is a strategic asset, customers are the center and technology is the lever to unleash internal potential.

Regarding Party building work, Vietcombank determines that the Party leads at the right level, enterprises go in the right direction; the Party organization is not only the political nucleus ensuring orientation and unity of will in the entire system but also the center of initiating innovation, fostering the spirit of service and being the driving force for practical and effective action in each cadre and Party member.

In the past term, Vietcombank has completed the Party Committee model of the entire bank, successfully receiving 45 party organizations under its management. Overcoming the challenges in political screening and improving the quality of input, Vietcombank Party Committee has developed 1,783 new party members, not only a growth in quantity (reaching 297% of the Resolution's target), but also the result of the process of selecting and nurturing a young team with courage, intelligence, and readiness to shoulder the mission of inheriting the ideals and developing the bank in the new period. Vietcombank Party Committee has been classified as "Excellently completing the task" for 7 consecutive years - the only unit in the Central Enterprise Party Committee to achieve this achievement.

With outstanding results in performing political tasks and Party work, along with important contributions to the socio-economy, Vietcombank has been honored to receive many prestigious awards at home and abroad, continuously ranked in the Top 20 most sustainable enterprises on the stock market (VNSI), many noble awards from the Party and State, especially the title of Hero of Labor.

Promoting pioneering spirit and innovation

Entering the new term, in the context of the world and domestic economy continuing to have many potential fluctuations, opportunities and challenges intertwined, Vietcombank Party Committee determined the consistent action motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Courage - Breakthrough - Development", focusing on 6 strategic target groups.

That is to build a clean and strong Party organization; innovate leadership methods, tighten discipline, improve the quality of cadres, especially leaders; maintain the leading position in Vietnam, gradually reach the regional level, aim for governance standards, transparency, efficiency and deeper integration into the international financial market.

Along with that, promote comprehensive digital transformation: taking Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud computing, Blockchain technology... as the foundation, customer experience as the center; restructuring the organizational model towards leanness - flexibility - efficiency - safety; expanding cooperation with corporations and financial institutions at home and abroad; leading the digital economy and open finance.

On the other hand, pioneering in green credit, ESG and comprehensive finance; prioritizing resource concentration for production and business, priority areas, and sustainable development;   Prepare for international integration according to high standards, aiming for global listing and entering the Top 100 largest banks in Asia.

Although the road ahead is still full of challenges, Vietcombank's collective of nearly 24,000 cadres, party members and employees always firmly believes that the historical tradition forged over more than 60 years, pioneering spirit, innovative spirit and service ideals, all will combine to form the strength to bring the bank to new heights, under the leadership of the Party.
