Currently, there are 16 industrial parks in operation in the province, attracting 846 secondary projects, of which 521 are FDI projects and 325 are DDI projects. In addition, there are 6 industrial parks under construction and 6 other industrial parks are implementing compensation and site clearance. Industrial parks have become the driving force for economic development, contributing greatly to the budget and creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers.
Notably, Phu Tho prioritizes the expansion of new industrial parks along the Hanoi - Lao Cai highway and beltways 4 and 5 to form modern and synchronous infrastructure. By 2030, it strives to establish 29 more industrial parks, including at least 1 high-tech industrial park and build and form 1 ecological industrial park.
Ba Thien II Industrial Park - a place attracting many domestic and foreign investment projects in Phu Tho province in recent years
Despite receiving great attention from all levels and sectors in the province, the work of completing infrastructure for industrial parks still faces many difficulties. The biggest obstacle at present lies in the lack of land for leveling and the slow progress of compensation and resettlement. The application of the revised Land Law with many new regulations makes the work of site clearance more complicated.
Some households even do not cooperate, arbitrarily create illegal assets or demand high compensation. In large projects such as Son Loi Industrial Park, Tam Duong I - Area 2 or Song Lo II, the demand for land for leveling is up to millions of cubic meters, far exceeding the current capacity.
SHI IP Tam Duong Industrial Park (also known as Tam Duong Industrial Park I, Area 2) with a total area of 162.33 hectares is speeding up construction progress.
In addition, the progress of land handover is also a matter of concern. Industrial parks such as Son Loi, Song Lo II, Tam Duong I - Zone 2 still have large areas that have not been handed over, directly affecting the progress of infrastructure construction. Some other industrial parks such as Nam Binh Xuyen, Phuc Yen, Dong Soc or Binh Xuyen II - Phase II, although established, still do not have land for implementation.
Song Lo II Industrial Park, Song Lo commune is also urgently completing many items.
According to the leader of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, these shortcomings have resulted in the large-scale clean land fund becoming increasingly scarce, many potential projects have difficulty finding suitable locations; land rental costs in industrial parks have increased; the construction progress of resettlement areas is slow, making the site clearance process even more difficult...
Faced with this situation, the province has issued specific instructions, requiring the Industrial Park Management Board to closely coordinate with departments, branches and localities to speed up planning approval, select capable infrastructure investors, and ensure orientation towards high-tech, green and environmentally friendly industries.
Many important items of Song Lo II Industrial Park such as: Internal roads, drainage system have taken shape, the office building item has also completed the foundation.
At the same time, local authorities have increased dialogue with people, clarified the benefits of the project to limit complaints and illegal assets. The inter-sectoral coordination mechanism between the Industrial Park Management Board and departments such as Agriculture & Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade... has been strengthened to promptly handle arising problems. At the same time, functional units have built a transparent monitoring system, linking the responsibility of infrastructure investors with disbursement commitments, avoiding stagnation and wasting resources.
The goal set by the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board is to create about 100 hectares of clean land with synchronous technical infrastructure, ready for secondary investors by the end of 2025. This will be an important foundation for Phu Tho to take the lead in the wave of global production shifts.
Accelerating the completion of industrial park infrastructure not only immediately removes bottlenecks in attracting investment but also opens up prospects for sustainable, long-term development for the province. With the strong direction of the government and the support of businesses, Phu Tho can completely turn potential into reality, becoming a bright spot on the regional industrial map.
