Predicting the score distribution of Literature subject

A week ago, an excerpt from the work "Distant Stars" by writer Le Minh Khue was also used by the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi National University, as material for exam questions for candidates entering the school's 10th grade specialized classes.

Last year, Literature was the only 10th grade exam subject in Hanoi that did not have a candidate achieving a perfect score. Of the approximately 107,000 candidates taking the exam, more than 1,380 candidates scored 9 or higher in Literature (accounting for 1.29%).

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, 594 candidates were absent from the Literature exam this morning. Two candidates violated exam regulations, one of them brought documents and the other brought a phone into the exam room.

On the afternoon of June 10, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam for 60 minutes. Tomorrow morning, they will take the Math exam for 120 minutes. To be considered for admission, candidates must complete all exams, not violate the regulations, and not receive a score of 0 in any exam. The admission score for non-specialized high schools is the total Literature and Math scores multiplied by two, plus the Foreign Language and priority scores.

Students who register for specialized schools will take an additional specialized subject test on June 12. The admission score for specialized 10th grade is the sum of the scores of the three exams Math, Literature, Foreign Language and the specialized subject score multiplied by a factor of two.

Hanoi's public 10th grade benchmark scores were announced on July 8-9, with candidates confirming their enrollment online or in person. From July 18, schools that do not meet their enrollment quotas will begin additional enrollment.
