Accordingly, teacher Tran Thi Bich Chau, head of the literature group at Mac Dinh Chi High School, represented the school's professional group and said that this is a periodic test conducted by class unit, the test questions are compiled by subject teachers according to the consensus of the professional group.

Specifically, the requirements for the topic: Write an argumentative text discussing an issue (a phenomenon in life or an issue related to young people); The topic does not use language materials; Time limit: 45 minutes; Ensure the content of the 10th grade literature program (volume 1 - Creative horizons) of the lesson "Writing an argumentative text about a social issue" writing part (lesson 2/ page 54) and the type of essay using arguments and evidence to discuss and clarify a social issue.

The head of the literature group of Mac Dinh Chi High School also explained the required time to complete the test of 45 minutes. Ms. Chau said: "Students have been instructed to recognize the requirements of a social argumentative essay on a social issue. Students have been instructed to practice applying argumentative techniques in writing in accordance with the required time. Students have been instructed to express themselves concisely, present clearly; have appropriate arguments and evidence according to the requirements of the topic."

Stirring up the literature test 'the glamorous lifestyle of young people'

Regarding the content of knowledge, the head of the literature group said that teachers guide students to state the practical significance of social issues that they are oriented to choose (including the issue of "canvas lifestyle"). In writing lessons, teachers let students practice writing skills, presenting social issues that have been studied. In speaking and listening lessons, teachers guide students to present in groups and give comments to help students correctly perceive social issues, have appropriate attitudes and solutions. Express the writer's awareness, concepts, attitudes, and positions on right/wrong, good/bad expressions... Know how to promote strengths, overcome weaknesses in the way of perceiving social issues. Have an objective view, aiming at positive and good things in life.

In addition, 10th grade students also learn the topic "Building a life perspective" from experiential activities and career guidance, so they have more social knowledge to write argumentative essays.

As Thanh Nien Newspaper reported, on social networks, the mid-term 1 literature test for class 10A25 of Mac Dinh Chi High School was spread with only one line and 17 words with the content: 'Write an essay discussing the current youth's promiscuous lifestyle'. There were many controversial opinions from teachers about the content and requirements of this test.

In addition to assessing teachers for following trends when setting test questions, some teachers also pointed out that the word "background" can be difficult to understand and easily cause confusion, especially for 10th grade students.
